Laser Surface Velocimeter from Polytec

Non-touch velocity measurement. Red-hot, cold, or aggressive surfaces.

What does molten steel and an graphite carrier in a semiconductor reactor have in common? They are both red-hot, at temperatures above 1000 degrees C. How do you measure their velocity? With a non-contact non-intrusive velocimeter.

Precise speed and length measurements are critical for controlling the production of continuous materials, sheet materials and piece goods. ProSpeed® – the next generation LSV Laser Surface Velocimeters – optimize production processes by providing reliable measurements and increase the output worldwide in the metals, cable and converting industries.

The ProSpeed® LSV-2100 optical sensor determines the direction of motion and standstill conditions with laser precision. As long as what you are measuring is not entirely transparent in the visible and IR spectrum, its speed can be measured by the ProSpeed® LSV-2100, from a distance up to 3 meters.
