Low Cost Sight Glass

Low cost sight glasses are typically used for a quick visual inspection of oil levels or refrigerant color. These sights may have windows slightly opaque or not perfectly flat and polished, but should be good enough to transmit light and see the basic shapes behind the glass. Low cost sight glasses are produced in large quantities in order to take advantage of volume manufacturing. These sights are robust and simple to install. These inexpensive sight glasses are designed for a sweet-spot of most common operating parameters, where the pressures do not exceed 300 psi with temperatures below 130 degrees C, (57 F).
