Low Cost NPT Sight Glass
Oil sight glass made specifically for applications requiring an inexpensive sight window. The glass is fused to a metal housing creating a hermetically sealed single piece part. The connections are NPT or NPTF (Dryseal) threads. This a popular sight glass for quick visual inspection of liquid levels, refrigerant colors in R22, R-134 systems. Not suitable for R744 systems operating at higher pressures.
Sodalime Glass Fused to a Carbon Steel Housing with NPT ThreadsBudget sight glasses for general applications. Sodalime glass is fused to a plain carbon steel body which is Nickel-plated or Zinc-plated for added corrosion resistance. These sight glasses can be threaded directly into a pipe, or a boss welded to a pipe with cut threads. Ideal viewports for visual observation of liquid levels and their colors. Applications include hydraulic systems with mineral oils, diesel, and other common petrochemicals where low cost is required. Not suitable for cycling high temperature, high pressure or aggressively corrosive applications. |
Sodalime Glass Fused to a Carbon Steel Housing, with NPTF (Dryseal) ThreadsSimilar to the NPT sightglasses in a carbon steel housing, these sights have NPTF (Dryseal) threads. Typical uses include fuel & oil applications where NPTF threads can be sealed without a thread sealant. |

Low cost NPT sight glasses for general applications such as observing oil levels inside a tank, transmitting light, or monitoring fluid colors.
Sodalime Glass Fused to a Nickel-Plated or Zink-Plated Carbon Steel Housing. The glass thickness is less than the full height of the part. Not suitable for applications requiring ideal optical clarity.
Note: The image of the objects behind the glass may be distorted as the glass is slightly concave. For perfect optical clarity choose sight glasses with glass filling the entire height of the housing, where both sides of the glass are flat. |

NPTF Sight Glasses, Sodalime Glass, Nickel or Zinc-plated Carbon Steel Housing

Low cost NPTF sight glasses for general applications, with NPTF (Dryseal) threads.
Sodalime Glass Fused to a Nickel-Plated or Zink-Plated Carbon Steel Housing. Glass thickness is less than the full height of the part. NPTF threaded sights for fuel applications, where closer fit is required between threads. Often called "Dryseal", NPTF fittings can seal without a tape or sealant for low pressure applications with viscous fluids.
Note: The image of the objects behind the glass may be distorted as the glass is slightly concave. For perfect optical clarity choose sight glasses with glass filling the entire height of the housing, where both sides of the glass are flat. |
